More than a million people in the UK now have so-called superfast broadband speeds, according to the government.

It said it remained “firmly on track” to roll out high-speed internet to 95% of UK homes and businesses by 2017.

The government also said its rural programme would deliver returns of £20 for every £1 invested, representing “tremendous value for money”.  BBC web site full story
